Speaker. Advocate. Inspiring Change in the World of College Athletics.
ABOUT
Patrick is a former Division 1 Football Player, Captain, Collegiate Football Coach, Sexual Assault Prevention Advocate, and Keynote Speaker from Portland, Oregon. In 2022, he was unjustly forced off his college football team after courageously speaking out about his friend being sexually assaulted by one of his teammates. He faced humiliation, threats of violence, and vandalism of his belongings, while the perpetrator was protected. Most importantly, his friend was gravely failed by the very authorities meant to protect them, highlighting the daily struggles survivors face in being believed and supported.
His friend’s courage of coming forward and Patrick’s outspoken stance against the mistreatment of them led to significant positive changes in their local community. Despite his friend's brave efforts to seek justice, they were met with mistreatment and disbelief at every turn. This painful reality underscores the systemic failures of the Justice System in supporting male and female survivors, often leaving them without hope for a better future.
Patrick takes a different approach the issue of sexual assault prevention. He has now made it his mission to engage men on consent, healthy relationships, and mental health. Since he comes from a background of coaching and playing college football, Patrick understands the dynamics of a mens locker room and knows how to bond and build relationships with men. Patrick emphasizes that men are victims of sexual, domestic, and dating violence too, speaking from his own life experiences and emphasizes the importance of empowering men to be part of the greater solution in solving them problem. Rather than viewing all men as perpetrators of sexual violence or “bad”, we need to welcome them compassionately to be part of the conversation and greater solution.
Patrick also works as an Associate of Men’s Engagement for ItsOnUs, a nationally recognized organization with the purpose of improving sexual assault prevention efforts on college campuses. Patrick's mission is to engage and educate men the right way and to ensure that what happened to his friend never happens again.
Patrick's journey from athlete to advocate exemplifies courage and determination in confronting societal challenges. By sharing his story and advocating for change, he strives to empower male athletes to be leaders in preventing sexual violence and fostering a culture of respect and safety on campuses nationwide.
“As a person, Patrick is one of the kindest, most thoughtful, and hardworking young men I have had the pleasure of working with. His dedication to serving and supporting others comes from his deep compassion for those around him. He is always the first to raise his hand and offer whatever assistance he can to someone in need. He is also never afraid to stand up for what is right – even if doing so comes at a great personal cost to himself.”

“Pat brings energy, focus, honesty and care to this work. He is notably a productive worker and a reliable teammate. As someone else who was brought into this field through a whirlwind of personal stories and sports media, I have a positive feeling that his passion and interest in prevention solutions will not fade, rather they will continue to grow. ”
